Staged Interior recently had the opportunity to stage a one-of-a-kind property located in McLean, Virginia. This custom home was designed by Studio 27 Architecture and developed by T. White Construction. Its modern design embraces a simplified, luxe lifestyle.
The home was designed for the secluded, half-acre home site to maximize privacy while highlighting the views of the wooded grounds. The expansive windows throughout the property not only provide abundant natural light, but help blend the experience of indoor and outdoor living. Here’s how we styled this property to provide a modern home staging that matched the architecture.
Below is the main living area with a sleek fireplace, white oak floors and a floor-to-ceiling folding glass wall that opens to the exterior living area.
Our team wanted to highlight the fireplace wall as the main focal point in this room. We chose a neutral palette playing with grays and blacks to complement the fireplace’s color. Sleek contemporary furniture frames the space creating a cozy conversation area.
Beyond the living room is a spacious covered seating area overlooking a patio with an outdoor fireplace. Our team mimicked the indoor living room’s colors, creating a unique look with fun, graphic patterns.
In the dining room across from the state-of-the-art kitchen, we positioned a glass table to highlight the gorgeous corner windows. We placed matching paintings on either side of the windows and used a light wood server to showcase the floors.
In the family room, a gray sectional provides plenty of room to lounge. Our team added pops of blue and copper to display a warm, welcoming place where potential buyers could see themselves relaxing and enjoying family time.
Finally, we staged the upper-level bedroom suite to show off the floor to ceiling view replacing a fourth wall in the room. We used a few pops of color in the artwork, but otherwise kept the room neutral. The floor mirror reflects the natural light and view, as well as provides a background for the sitting area.
