Staged Interior recently had the opportunity to stage two historic homes, both rowhouses in Washington, D.C. built in the 1900s. While many homebuyers search for these coveted moments in time to call home, these older floor plans possess some challenges for today’s buyer. Many benefit from an expert who can maximize the space.
The first home was on 12 Street NW and one of five unique residences. Each residence featured its own original character and charm. The 930 square foot layout showcased coffered ceilings, original wood floors that had been restored, and soaring windows throughout. Staged Interior’s Lead Designer Maggie Ryan created a space that truly highlighted the strengths of the floor plan. Her design brought real utility with space-appropriate furniture and accessories.
“They mobilized quickly, met our listing deadline and helped us achieve a great contract that is scheduled to close in the coming weeks.” ~James Lobocchiaro, Realtor
Maggie and her team staged all the rooms of the converted urban rowhouse. They used a modern, simple style. The property sold in only 17 days after listing.
The second historic property, also staged by Maggie and the Staged Interior team, was located on 17th St, NW, Washington, DC. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo was built in 1912. It was even smaller, with only 920 square feet to work with! It was an updated and charming Adam’s Morgan gem that included 3 outdoor spaces. Inside, buyers could enjoy an updated kitchen, exposed brick, pine wood floors, and a separate dining room.
Before furnishing the property with Staged Interior inventory, Maggie suggested the builder change out the vanities and fixtures for both bathrooms, as well as the flooring in the upstairs hall bath. This remarkable transformation played a key role in getting the property sold in only 14 days.
